Dia de Independencia, continua

Independence Day Parade: not very different from the U.S.

Impressive precision despite the narrow street and mucho distractions

Bebe Beauty Queens, precious!

Also adorable in their uniforms and energy, pretty sure they´re only 5 and 6 years old.

Que Caliente!

Mi Amiga con Gallo Chicas (Gallo = national beer of Guatemala)

Liters of Gallo

Street food is so delicious!

With the Gallo Robot at a salsa club, that´s a tablet strapped to his crotch...

Insane fireworks display right over our heads = ashes in your beer, hair, and eyes.
Pero no hay problema!

Not shown: tens of thousands of people in the streets of downtown, having a crazy good time, all night looooooong.
Big and small vendors making bank.
Concerts at each corner of the park, fueling the party.
World Cup groupies, you know what I´m talking about.

Also not shown: unbelievable amount of trash that accumulated on the streets overnight. But by 10:30 am the next day, when we wandered out again, the streets were completely cleared of trash and ready for another day of partying.
